Now the entire hosts of heaven, and indeed the whole of creation are poised, watching and waiting, to participate in a divine event so magnificent its description is beyond mere words. Prophecies about heaven on earth and even our greatest imaginings of paradise lost do not do justice to the scope and magnitude of this event.

Greetings, my name is Michael Sharp.

So recently, I got an email from a woman reading my online forums and expressing concern about some of the posts in the forum. She noted, quite correctly, that I have issues with some of the “new age” type channelers out there channeling information from the spirit world.

She’s right, I do.

I do tend to be very skeptical of them, and it is not because I don’t believe in channeling.

I do believe in it.

In fact, I practice it in my daily life. I also have an article series where I talk, in some detail, about the process of channeling and the pitfalls that newbies encounter. So you can see my issues are not with channeling itself.

What I am skeptical of, what I do have a problem with, is what channelers sometimes say about spiritual topics. There is a lot I could say here but instead I just want to focus on a particular problem with what channelers have to say about the “end-times” or the “transition” or the “shift” or the “evolutionary jump” or whatever it is they think that’s going on right now.

I’ll be honest with you.

It really bothers me when they start talking about that stuff, and not because I don’t believe something is going on, I do believe something is going on. Heck, I even wrote a book about it—The Book of Life. So, it’s not the idea of the end times I have a problem with. What I do have an issue with is what some people have to say about this end times process.

A lot of the times, you see, when these channelers, spiritual teachers, and preachers get to talking about the end times, they start talking about it as if it’s some kind of test.

They’ll tell you, as they talk about it, that it’s a moral test or a spiritual test or an evolutionary test or a service test or whatever.

And it’s not a midterm test they are talking about.

Oh no.

They are talking about a final test complete with rewards for the ones who “pass,” and consequences for those who fail.

And generally, the consequences aren’t pretty.

According to these end-of-timers, somebody is going to suffer.

Maybe it’s a little suffering, maybe it’s a lot, but almost invariably they say somebody is gonna suffer.

Mass exits, rapture, relocation, damnation, reconfiguration, whatever.

If you don’t find your way, if you get the test wrong, if you don’t develop a proper quotient of spirituality or whatever, there’s going to be consequences.

And my problem with this?

Well, I have three problems with this particular line of thinking.

Problem one is that it’s quite clear to me that when they start talking about the consequences for evolutionary or spiritual failure, they are talking about the death of thousands, millions, maybe even billions, of innocent people—including infants and children.

They don’t seem to care.

They don’t seem to make any distinction.

They don’t seem to give it much thought really but my God! Can they be serious?

Is this what they really think is happening, or is going to happen?

Is this where their intent is taking us ‘cause if so, maybe they should just come out and say what they mean instead of dropping “cool” little euphemisms for mass death and destruction.

“Hey spiritual newbie, come over here.”

“I know you are looking for answers so let me be up front and honest with you…”

“I believe if you don’t pass the test, you’re gonna die.”

“Hey, I stand for the death of millions of innocent people.”

“Hey, I’m just ‘the messenger’.”

“I’m not the one making the decisions or grading the exams.”

“I’m just relaying the plan.”

Ya right.

That’s about as much of a reflection of God’s plan as you could get of your own face if you were to look straight into a massive cow flop.

That’s not it.

The truth is, that’s ungodly and if you ask me, a sign of potential mental disturbance.

I mean, nobody in their right mind wants to even consider an idea like that much less follow along with it.

To the healthy psyche, the death of hundreds, thousands, millions, billions is scary.

It’s something to be avoided at all costs, not sloughed off on to some fantastically misinterpreted version of God’s plan.

But you know, it’s not just the fact that these channelers sometimes sound like lunatics that gets my goat.

There’s more going on.

I mean, not only do these ideas point casually to the death of people AS IF it’s something condoned, controlled, and even encouraged by spirit and God, these ideas also justify, and even allow, that reality to unfold.

Think about it.

If you accept the premise, if you believe that you are one of the lucky ones and there’s a bunch of cosmic losers standing over there in an exit line organized by God, then you’re not gonna lift a bloody finger to stop the “purges” and the “cleansings” and the wars and the whatnots that will be required to clean up this earth and get rid of the undesirables.

It’s in the rule book after all right?

It’s God’s plan and we can’t interfere with that.

Heck, we might even jump on a boat with a gun and go help the “transitioning” along.

It’s part of the natural process.

If children are dying in Iraq, just let it happen.

If the government drops a nuclear bomb on Iran, hey it was called for in prophecy and

besides, we knew there were going to be exits anyway.

Why do anything?

Why even raise our voice?

Killing is for the common spiritual (or evolutionary) good, right?

Right?

Wrong.

Bullshit really.

If you ask me, this spiritual coupling of the end-times with death and destruction is a great belief for those in power who profit from war, death, and destruction, and whose only interest is keeping the old world order in place, but it doesn’t do diddly squat for the people of this world. Really all it does is allow “them” (the people with real power) to run rampant and violent over the face of this earth with the blessings of the people!

If something bad happens, like a war, or a foreign occupation, or an ecological collapse caused by massive corporate irresponsibility hey, it’s part of the plan.

It’s brilliant when you think about it.

Just trot this mythology out whenever something objectionable is happening, or whenever a really big task comes along, like taking over a continent to get access to the oil, or beating down the regularly occurring attempts to expand consciousness into the body that we see from time to time.

Death and destruction with the blessing of the people.

And I ain’t whistling Dixie here either.

Think about it.

How many times in the past 2,000 years has the Bible’s Book of Revelations been trotted out to explain all the bad things happening on the earth?

It’s happened so many times, even in the last 100 years, that it has become a joke amongst cartoonists.

2012 is just this generation’s iteration, but there’s nothing new in that old story.

So you see my problem with this whole idea of end-times and tests and stuff. Not only is there some apparent psychopathology going on, but there’s also, apparently, a powerful propaganda thing going on.

Now, my third problem with this idea of end times tests, mass purging, exits and stuff like that is simply that it’s not true.

It’s not true.

As I said earlier, no sane person on earth wants to see that kinds of tragedy unfold and frankly, neither does Spirit or God or consciousness or evolution or whatever you want to call it.

From the perspective of Spirit and of God, it is pernicious misconception at best, and a bloody lie at worst.

The truth is, God/spirit/consciousness does not look down on this world and say, “you’re a bunch of worthless shitheads, let’s kill a few thousand, or a million, or a billion people so the “good ones” can have a better life.”

No matter what they may have told you about famines and wars and plagues and floods and stuff like that, when that stuff happens, God is not behind it.

Natural disaster maybe, lunatic warmonger leaders often, but the hand of God, never.

That’s simply not the way it works.

The truth is, God is love, compassion, and light and, bottom line, a being of love, light, and compassion, neither stands for, nor stands by, the death of even one child, woman, or man.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

When the God that is within, when the Christ that is within, when the high consciousness that is within enters the physical body and gets close to this ugly world of poverty, hatred, war, and suffering,

it says the only thing that a being of pure light, love, and compassion can say in a situation like this and that is…

Do something about this.

Stop it, right now.

Stop the pain, suffering, war, violence, poverty, hatred, and killing.

Stop it.

“This is not what god wants,” says your higher self.

“This is not part of the plan,” says the light that is within

“Please,” it says, “stop it.”

And don’t kid yourself about this.

The god that is within, your higher consciousness, your Christ self, or whatever you want to call it, will not stand by while a jackboot comes stomping down on the faces of the people of this earth.

That’s just not the way god works, that’s not the way “the plan” unfolds and if you think it is then you’ve been misled.

The truth is, thinking like that is anti-consciousness, anti-god, even anti-christ, so if you want my advice, if you want to navigate the end-times unfolding as safely and efficiently as possible, and if you want to help your loved ones and the people who are around you “tune in” to what’s happening, you get yourself as far away from ideas like that as you can.
