The world is watching…

You know what, I love a good movie  just as much as the next person. I love action films, I love dramas, I love romantic comedies, and I especially love kids flicks.  And I know I’m not the only one. Billions of people around the world tune in to the output of Hollywood every month, whether it is at the box office, on the home DVD, in the “e-talk” shows, or whatever.

You can’t deny it.

All around the world people are ...

The Sphere Movie

As above in consciousness, so below in matterTM

So a few days ago I had the dubious pleasure of watching a film called The Sphere (1998) with Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie is about a crew of people who go down into the ocean to find a spaceship buried in three hundred years of coral growth. You can imagine their surprise when they realize the ship is from their own future, everybody is ...

Protected: Knowing Nicholas Cage…

Ever since I saw Nicholas Cage in the horrible film The Wicker Man I’ve tended to avoid seeing any films that he is in because they tend to be what I like to call spiritual propaganda films. Wicker Man certainly was. In that film Nicholas is “done in” by some ritualistic female spirituality that uses him, manipulates him into attending his own ritualistic murder, and then burns him alive after breaking his legs so he can’t run away. It was ...

Indiana Jones and that nauseating feeling

Warning, if you read this, it will spoil the movie ending for you.

So I just came back from seeing the new Indiana Jones movie and all I can say is, what a disappointment. Not only were all the action sequences pasted over from the original, but the anti-empowerment propaganda of the series has become so painfully blatant and caricatured that the real entertainment value is to be found in the idea that the Lucas’  “you are a dumbass human, not ...

The Box – Of Adam, Eve, the serpent, and judgment

My wife and I just finished watching a new movie called The Box starring Cameron Diaz and James Marsden and the only word that I can find to describe this movie is pathetic. The Box is a thinly veiled attempt to foist old world spirituality and dogma on unsuspecting viewers. It starts interestingly enough with a gentlemen (a.k.a the serpent, we later realize) who delivers a box with a red button (the apple) to a couple (Adam and Eve) ...

Klaatu barada nikto – Keanu and Hollywood Propoganda

Well I did it.

I didn’t want to.

Considering Keanu Reeves has become the stable Hollywood “saviour” type, doing duty as Neo from the Matrix, Constantine, and now Klaatu from the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still, all with the same horrible dead pan delivery, and all with the same dreary apocalyptic agenda, I didn’t expect it to be good, but I watched it anyway–primarily because I wanted to see the famous movie where my all time favorite progressive rock ...

Coraline Movie

Well, I had the dubious pleasure of seeing the kids movie Coraline over the weekend. I say dubious because although from an artistic perspective, the movie was a masterpiece, I didn’t really like the message that the movie was sending to children. In my opinion it was  a very regressive message, encouraging kids to justify and accept the bad things in life as a sort of “best that you can get” reality.

Allow me to ...
