The Fool becomes Joyful

Old Energy

One of the principle archetypal messages of the Old World western tarot can be found in the tarot card The Fool. Typically, the card shows an individual soul, a “fool,” about to step off of a cliff into incarnation. As this old story from the Old Book is told, The Fool is stepping away from source (i.e., The Sun) and off the cliff into a physical body below. In this card, The Fool has a mission which is (depending upon your location in the hierarchies of this world) variously, to “learn,” to grow, to evolve, to strengthen, to soften, to attain salvation, to develop, to purify, to become enlightened, to become good, to clear karma, to prove worthiness in the eyes of god or authority, etc. You start off as the royal idiot, the untamed wild man, the insensate fool and only later, if you are lucky, if you pay your dues, if you pass “Judgment,” are you able to graduate and/or attain “salvation.”

Superficially, these all seem like different goals but in reality they are all the same. The goal of incarnation, the single purpose for your existence, is for you to work to improve yourself in some way. It might hurt, and you may have to work until all the energy is sucked out of you and you die, but you got to do what you got to do to overcome your foolish limitations. You are, as noted in The Book of the Triumph of Spirit Master Key, a Fool in School.

New Energy

Of course, in the Halo/Sharp new energy version of this card, the message is different. In the new book we still see an individual soul or monad stepping into incarnation, but this time the soul is fully empowered (i.e., all chakras activated), fully awakened, and fully connected to source. Here, we see the beginning of a different story, a new story in a new book. In this card the soul (that’s you) follows the yellow brick road into incarnation, joyfully anticipating the experiences that it will manifest, blissful in the awareness of its divinity, and ecstatic at the positive and exciting experiences that await it.  In the new story, the true story, you have incarnated thousands and thousands of times. In the new story, you are already a Powerful Master of creation. In the new story you incarnate on this planet to work with your brothers and sisters in order to ascend The Universe. The details of your journey, and your job, may be found in the other archetypes of the Halo/Sharp system.

In the new story, a story that begins for you here, you will find neither justification of suffering nor expectation of woe. You are not here to learn your lessons or pay your dues, you are here to awaken, empower, and ascend.  Indeed, when we we have collectively cleared the old archetypes and manifested a new world free of hierarchy, greed, and privilege, only joyful creation awaits the incarnating monad.
