The Masonic Tarot – Hermit

In the old energy, and in the new energy, this card represents the truth or rather, the “mode of delivery” of said truth. In the old energy the truth is hidden away and obscured. High on a mountain top, out of reach of the general population, and accessible only through a hard climb and sacrifice, the truth is kept hidden from the masses, protected from exposure to the profane. The reason for the secrecy and obscurity  is simple, or so we are told. The masses cannot handle the truth and so the “brothers” must protect it and keep it hidden, releasing it only to those who have proven themselves worthy by dint of struggle, sacrifice, and challenge, or have been chosen for access and entry because of their “special” qualities (usually because they have lots of money). But the reason given is nothing more than an excuse designed to protect the pathways of power and privilege on this planet. It is not that the masses cannot handle the truth, it is that the truth would set them free. And the truth is, on a planet characterized by power, privilege  and wage slavery, and where that power and privilege is fiercely and violently protected by those who  benefit the most from it, truth and freedom are not valid options because the truth would reveal too much. Thus in order to protect the integrity of The System, the truth must remain obscured, hidden, and difficult to access.

In the new energy this card also represents the truth, but with an important difference. In the new energy the truth isn’t hidden away, isolated, and obscured. In the new energy the truth isn’t held in a lamp and situated at the top of a difficult climb. In the new energies the truth isn’t held by someone else. In the new energy the truth is held and reflected within you and by you.  In the new energy there is no climb up a mountain, there are no tests of worthiness, and no submission to the Hierophant is required. In the new energies there is only the brilliant and powerful light of truth which, as an incarnated Lightworker, it is your job to bring to this world. So step up. Awaken and empower, embrace your true destiny as powerful, incarnated Lightworker, and ascend not only this World but The Universe as well.
