Rejoice, for death is near
Rejoice, For Death is near
Are you a good person?
Are you moral and cool?
Are you righteous and strong?
Do you sing a great song?
Well, you laugh when someone dies,
And you dance when flesh defiled.
And you orgasm in the streets,
Because their death sees justice mete.
And you tell yourself you’re cool,
And the enemy, he’s the fool.
And the gun that’s in your hand?
You say “for freedom, little man.”
And you run, and scream, and shout
And you let your devil out.
And you laugh and cry and curse,
And miss the meaning in this verse.
But I’ll tell you, sleeping one.
There is no honor in a gun,
There is no justice for the fools,
I see revenge, and that ain’t cool.
So I wonder, little one,
If before this rhyme is done,
If before your end comes near,
These words of wisdom you will hear.
Or if you’ll simply run about,
And jump and laugh and cry and shout.
And dance to earthly puppeteer,
Who says rejoice, for death is near.
