Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and
remain on him. And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ John 1: 32-4.
The image you see to the right is the Sharp family logo/brand/cutie mark. Normally I can’t draw a stick figure much less elegant lines like this, but this logo came with a flash of insight and a burst of talent back in 2001. I drew it with two lines on the computer, using a mouse, on my first try. To this day I am still stunned by the feat because even now I wouldn’t be able to reproduce this logo if my life depended on it.
This mark appears on (and in) all my books. It is peppered throughout this website and is even tattooed on the skin of our family. It is our expectation that our children will eventually tattoo it as well. The question of course now is, what does it mean.
Fire/The Fire of Consciousness
The logo itself represents the fire of Consciousness descending. It is descent of the Holy Spirit into the physical unit (i.e. your body and mind). It is mystical union with God and glorious Connection with The Fabric. It is the world of Spirit, Consciousness, Celestia! It is The Word of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. It is the Divine Logos, the Godhead, The Fabric of Consciousness. It is the ultimate ground of all reality as it finally pierces in blazing glory the “normal” reality of our normal, disconnected, daily existence. The descent of Consciousness represents the Great Awakening of humanity.
This idea of consciousness descending, of the fire of consciousness, or of the fiery word/Logos of God, is a common theme in mystical texts. Heracleitus spoke of the “Logos” or “Energizing Fire” (Underhill, 2002). The famous medieval mystic Hildegard of Bilgen is shown in illustrations as having a fire descending upon her head as she gains mystical insight (Harmless, 2008: 68).
The Dove is also related to the Hebrew Letter Shin, the 21st letter in the Hebrew alphabet. Shin is pronounced with an “sh” and literally means “teeth” or “sharp.” Shin also represents the element of Fire, Shaddai, a name of God , Shanisi, meaning “steadfastness in one’s faith,” shinoy, meaning “change for the good,” and also “return to the Path.” Shin is also indicative of the human heart and/or the heart of God as it is expressed through the human heart. Shin, in essence, represents the sweeping away of blockages and obstacles. Shin is the powerful and potent energy behind the the archangel Michael and his razor sharp sword, The archangel’s job is simple. He sweeps away all darkness so that the children of this Earth may once again emerge whole, healthy, and healed.
You can see shin in cosmology and mythology as the trident of Neptune and the trishula of Shiva, the weapons of God! Shin is a three pronged letter of power that looks remarkably like the descending dove.
The Dove is a bird. The logo is also related to the Raven. The Raven is the familiar of Odin. Odin has two raven’s, symbolic of thought and the active search for information, and mind and the ability to intuit meaning. Odin’s Ravens transmits information to Odin, but they are also responsible for letting you know when the God is present, and has something to say. When you see the raven, you should shut up and listen. The Raven is all about powerful Truths. In the old energy Truth was kept secret so in the old energy the Raven is associated with secrets, esoteric truths, and so on. Since the LP marks a watershed and transition from the old energy to the new, the Raven also transits and becomes symbolic, in the new energy, of total revelation.
The Lightning Path
The dove logo is a ubiquitous symbol in this Lightning PathTM spiritual space and for good reason. The dove/flame logo neatly encapsulates and represents the goal of the Lightning Path, and in fact any authentic spirituality, which is simply to facilitate the descent of consciousness (consciousness being symbolized in religious literature either by a DOVE or a FLAME) into the physical vessel (i.e. physical unit). The outcome of this process is variously described as enlightenment, the emergence of the Christ within, the descent of the Holy Spirit, attainment of Nirvana etc. The temporary, and sometimes minimal, descent of consciousness is what happens when people have mystical or “peak” experiences. Glimpses of the potential of this process can be had by those individuals having peak experiences (of the type identified by Abraham Maslow). Distorted and skewed representations are often the result of the unguided, misguided, and even abusive use of entheogens (a.k.a. crown chakra openers).
The initiation and completion of this process of consciousness expansion (into the body) is what prophets, pundits, and (surprisingly) some academics were hoping was going to spontaneously (i.e. magically) occur on some mystically significant Mayan date in the year 2012. The spontaneous descent of “the Christ” will, according to these misguided folks, presumably occur as a result of a) evolution, b) a magical pole shift, c) some end of cycle galactic alignment, d) the action of some (often wrathful and psychotic) patriarchical father-God figure, or e) some other poorly understood, magically conceived, and erroneous external force. Here on the LP we, however, know differently. The descent of consciousness is not something that will spontaneously occur as the result of galactic pole shifts or evolutionary jumps but instead will result from the work of clearing, healing, and transformation that you do for yourself. The work you do, your intent and activity, the effort of learning new concepts and techniques, the process of clearing chakra blockages, and your commitment to engage in right action and right thought, is what will transform your physical unit from the handicapped and damaged vessel it currently is (a vessel incapable of dealing with higher levels of consciousness) into a fully functional and awakened vehicle capable of accepting the powerful light of Spirit. The truth is, and unlike what the pundits and profits will tell you, the power to engage in this healing and transformation does not lie outside of us but rather emerges from within. The process of clearing, healing, awakening, and empowerment leads to the inevitable, and glorious, expansion (descent) of consciousness into the physical body–and that is what the dove/flame logo (and in fact this Lightning Path) is all about.

The Dove Logo
Then John said this for everyone to hear: “I also did not know who the Messiah was. But the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘You will see the Spirit come down and rest on a man. He is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I have seen this happen. I saw the Spirit come down from heaven like a dove and rest on this man. So this is what I tell people: ‘He is the Son of God.’
The adored cartoonists of the Renaissance portray the Ultimate Power as a Dove, or a Flaming Bush…
Book of the Law. Chapter I, verse 57.
Invoke me under my stars! Love is the law, love under will. Nor let the fools mistake love; for there are love and love. There is the dove, and there is the serpent. Choose ye well! He, my prophet, hath chosen, knowing the law of the fortress, and the great mystery of the House of God.
